New Assistant Principal
Congratulations to Donnetta MacDonald on her new role as Assistant Principal.  Donnetta has more than 17 years experience in education.  She is both Lower and Upper Elementary Montessori trained, and has been a part of the Free Horizon Community since 2007!

Responsibilities by Role

The Administrative Team is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the school.  Led by the Principal, each member of the Administration Team has distinct responsibilities, all working together to create a cohesive, positive, professional school work environment.

Principal (Kresta Vuolo)Principal (Kresta Vuolo):  The Principal is responsible for and accountable to the Board of Directors for all aspects of school operations.  These include the broad categories of enrollment, educational programs, community relations, fiscal management, personnel management, and property management.  These responsibilities are administered in a manner consistent with the Montessori philosophy and in the best interest of the School.  The Principal delegates responsibilities, provides appropriate leadership, and works with Jeffco Public Schools, State of Colorado, FHM Board of Directors, the Community Support Network, staff, parents, and community to effectively achieve the school's mission, vision, and goals.

Donnetta MacDonaldAssistant Principal (Donnetta MacDonald): 
The Assistant Principal assists the Principal by providing school and instructional leadership, daily organizational problem solving and management, and ongoing community building.  This includes, but is not limited to, collaboration on instructional design and delivery, school wide assessment oversight and data analysis, daily community relations and conflict resolution, service on the School Accountability Committee as the Principal's Designee, school wide discipline management, and assisting the Principal with staff hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation.  The Assistant Principal serves as the school leader in the Principal's absence. 

Miera NagyDirector of Finance & Advancement (Miera Nagy):  The Director of Finance and Advancement is responsible for and accountable to the Principal and the Board of Directors for the financial records and reporting and overall strategic capital planning for the school.  All financial arrangements and records regarding tuition and enrollment status and fees associated with the business of the School are handled through this office, with the support of the Financial Secretary.  In addition, all grants, strategic facilities planning and development, contracts, and the development and implementation of a comprehensive advancement strategy are managed through this office.

Director of Operations (Megan Wells)Director of Operations (Megan Wells):  The Director of Operations is accountable to the Principal and is responsible for coordinating all daily operational matters for the school, serves as the primary safety officer for the school, and trains new staff members on operational procedures important to their work.  The Director of Operations works directly with the Community Support Network/FHM Foundation to ensure communication and connection between school administration and the parent leadership cohort, as well as managing the parent involvement in the School.

Millie LippertBefore & After Care Director and Program Coordinator (Millie Lippert):  The Before & After Care Director and Program Coordinator oversees all programs outside of the school day including Before and After Care, Clubs, Enrichment, Kids' Night Out, Break Camps, and Summer Camp. Our Before & After Care Director and Program Coordinator also serves as a back-up Health Office Aide.

Enrollment & Communications Coordinator (TBA):  Our Enrollment & Communications Coordinator handles our school's enrollment, registration, and student records, coordinates internal and external school communications, and serves as a back-up Health Office Aide. In addition, the Enrollment & Communications Coordinator manages internal communications including newsletters, group distributions of emails and phone calls, and the school website. All student files and paperwork is submitted to and tracked by the Enrollment & Communications Coordinator, who is also the first point of contact for parents who have general questions when unsure of where to go for answers.

HR Specialist (Lisa Kingston)Principal's Secretary & HR Specialist (Lisa Kingston):  The Principal's Secretary & HR Specialist manages the Principal's calendar and oversees all matters relating to Human Resources including recruitment, hiring, personnel files, training, employee conflict resolution, and separation.  The Principal's Secretary & HR Specialist manages many compliance-related matters, supports the Principal with reports due to the district and CDE, prepares meeting materials, and oversees daily staffing, scheduling, and substitute needs.

Financial Secretary (Karen Clough):  The Financial Secretary is responsible for accounts payable and receivable, vendor relations, inventory management, purchasing, and maintenance of office equipment.
